Associate Consultant Data Engineer - Kollabio
January 2026 - Present
  • Solo Contributor for Kollabio’s involvement at CORMAC, contributing to the QIES to IQIES modernization project on the QMIR Data Operations team.
  • Contributed to Medicare/Medicaid data migration from PostgreSQL to Databricks using Databricks, Airflow, PySpark, and AWS.
  • Documented and designed changes to the Provider of Service Report System for data related to CMS health contracted facilities including CORF, LTCH, XRAY, and others.
  • Modified the data pipeline backend for new CMS services using Python and SQL to enable smooth verification of CMS provider certification processes.
  • Supported production releases and the transition from legacy QIES systems to IQIES by updating user-facing Databricks notebooks and resolving MAC-IRF helpdesk requests.
  • Served as the release engineer for Data Operations and represented team leadership when leadership was unavailable.

  • Owned the manual process of the Central Data Repository data dictionary system and supported schema migration processes.

As a Computational Modeling and Data Science Major, I was constantly working with large data modeling, simulation, and optimization, drawing on the computational skills needed in today’s data world. The CMDA program draws on expertise from three departments at Virginia Tech whose strengths are in quantitative science: Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science. By combining elements of these individual disciplines in innovative, integrated courses, with an emphasis on techniques at the forefront of applied computation, CMDA imparts a suite of quantitative skills that the workplace is demanding. In addition to focusing on these aspects of CMDA, I took it a step further by pursuing graduate level classes in statistics to complement my major. Additionally, I took extra classes to obtain my minors in CMDA’s three core areas: Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
